New Delhi: Penguin Random House India on Sunday released an e-book, published under its Ebury Press imprint, on the history, evolution, facts, and myths around Covid, before the subsequent release of its physical form in the market. “The Coronavirus: What you need to know about the global pandemic”, written by Dr Swapneil Parikh, Maherra Desai, and Dr Rajesh M Parikh, is available on e-commerce websites. 2 BMC staffers flee quarantine over ‘poor service’

Mumbai: Two employees of the Mumbai civic body who were quarantined at a civic hospital ran away from the facility blaming inadequate services and food on Sunday, an official said. He said the duo were put into quarantine at VN Desai Municipal Hospital in suburban Santacruz after they came into contact with a person, who later died of Covid. Meanwhile, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar, who visited the hospital on Sunday afternoon, said at least 17 staffers were suspected to have been exposed to the Covid patient who died. PTI

Yuvraj, Harbhajan offer donations

New Delhi: Former India star cricketer Yuvraj Singh on Sunday pledged to donate Rs50 lakh to the PM CARES fund to help fight the Covid pandemic. The flamboyant all-rounder also appealed to the people to stay united in the fight against the pandemic. Meanwhile, ace India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and wife Geeta have also pledged to feed 5,000 underprivileged families in his native Jalandhar, who are suffering amid the Covid epidemic. “We are distributing 5 kg of rice, flour, oil and other essential cooking ingredients. This endeavour will continue for the time being,” Harbhajan said. PTI
