Netizens are wondering if this picture of Akhilesh Mishra, special secretary, transport department, is genuine or fake. Mishra is seen sitting on a sack at the stall, and selling vegetable with many customers standing near the stall.

One claimed that Mishra was denied a plum posting, which made him sell vegetables. Others insisted that he was doing this to embarrass the state government.

Now, Mishra himself has come forward to clarify that the image was indeed genuine. The IAS officer took to Facebook to explain what had actually happened.

“I visited Prayagraj for some official work yesterday. On way back, I stopped at a vegetable stall. The owner, an old lady, requested me to look after her shop, as she wanted to go somewhere and said would return back soon. She had perhaps gone to look for her child who had gone away,” read the post, which the IAS officer wrote in Hindi, adding that: “Just as I sat down at her shop, a customer and the seller came. One of my friends took the photo and put it on my Facebook account from my phone.”
