* Google CEO Sundar Pichai, 47, will be chief of parent company Alphabet, making India-born tech wizard one of world’s most powerful corporate leaders

* Internet giant’s co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin stepped down from their executive roles, the company announced on Tuesday

* Pichai who has spent 15 years at Google rose to prominence while leading development of Google’s Chrome browser

* The co-founders still control more than 51% of shares. Page holds 26.1% of total voting power, Brin 25.25% & Pichai less than 1%
