As astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla and three others of the commercial Axiom-4 mission made a fiery return to Earth in southern California today, capping a 22.5-hour journey after an 18-day stay at the International Space Station, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X to welcome him home.
In the post he said, “I join the nation in welcoming Shubhanshu Shukla as he returns to earth from his historic mission to space. He has inspired a billion dreams through his dedication, courage and pioneering spirit.”
He lauded Shukla's feat, noting that he is the first Indian to have visited the ISS.
