New Delhi: The Centre on Thursday virtually launched e-SHRAM portal as part of a nationwide initiative to register workers in the unorganised sector. The database so created would help the Union and state governments in devising schemes for such workers. The portal has been named “National Database on Unorganised Workers” (NDUW). TNS

East Sikkim tops NITI’s SDG index

New Delhi: The NITI Aayog today released North Eastern Region (NER) District SDG Index Report and Dashboard 2021-22, which placed East Sikkim at the top of the chart and Nagaland’s Kiphire at the bottom, according to the specified parameters. This was the first edition of the report. TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
