The Prasar Bharati board issued a notice to the news agency, Press Trust of India, that it could stop subscription, alleging that it reported “anti-national” reports. The issue came to the boil after the PTI ran an interaction of Indian Ambassador to China Vikram Misri from Beijing after the agency had carried an interview of Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong. Comments by the Chinese Ambassador and the Indian envoy, according to commentary on the social media, ran contrary to the official position articulated by the PM during an all-party meeting over developments on the Sino-Indian border. — TNS
