Congress general secretary in charge of Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Sunday arrived in Rae Bareli for a two-day visit to take stock of the ground situation and meet party workers.
She had on Friday taken a marathon meeting with the UP Congress political strategy group and decided that the party leaders would hold a 12,000-km Congress Pratigya Yatra across the state.
There are plans to hold zone-wise events with Vadra personally involved in finalising the details of the outreach ahead of 2022 state elections.
She is currently taking advice from party leaders on routes and issues for the event.
Today, she started her visit by paying obeisance at a temple and meeting people. The Congress faces an uphill task in UP.
Increase cane prices, Varun writes to Yogi
- Three-time BJP MP from Pilibhit Varun Gandhi on Sunday urged CM Yogi Adityanath to substantially raise sugarcane prices and bonus on wheat and paddy
- Subsidy on diesel and doubling of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi benefit were also among Varun’s demands, which were raised by him in a letter to Adityanath
- Varun suggested increasing the sugarcane selling price to Rs400 per quintal in the state from Rs315 per quintal
