Chandigarh, August 22

President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday appointed Rajiv Kumar, a retired IAS officer, as the new Election Commissioner.

Rajiv Kumar will join the office from August 31 as current Election Commissioner has resigned with effect from August 31.
