The Supreme Court Registry issued a circular on Sunday to inform lawyers and litigants that it has decided to suspend the hybrid mode of hearing in view of rising cases of Omicron variant of COVID-19. The top court has reverted to virtual hearings for two weeks from January 3 in view of the emerging Covid-19 situation, it said.

The Delhi High Court has already reverted to virtual mode. On Monday, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) also decided to hear cases through virtual mode from January 4 to January 21 in view of the surge in COVID-19 cases and the restrictions imposed by authorities.
