Congress Chief Whip in the Rajya Sabha and former Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh has written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla against the proposal to send the Biological Diversity Act (Amendment) Bill, 2021, to a select committee of Parliament.

In the letter, a copy of which is with The Tribune, Ramesh argued that the Bill should go to the Standing Committee on Science and Technology, Environment, Forests and Climate Change.
