New Delhi, June 25

After the BJP today questioned the Sonia Gandhi-led Rajiv Gandhi Foundation over the receipt of $ 3 lakh from China and the Chinese Embassy in 2005 and 2006, the Congress hit back at it.

Former minister Anand Sharma asked the BJP to halt the disinformation campaign against Rahul Gandhi and asked, “Has Ram Madhav not traveled to China many times to meet CPC leadership? Did BJP president Amit Shah not receive Minister Wang Jiarui in February 2015 along with BJP general secretaries Ram Madhav, Ram Lal, Bhupendra Yadav and foreign department head? Did not Bhagat Singh Koshiyari, present Maharashtra Governor, lead a 13-member BJP parliamentary delegation to China in 2014 which met Minister Wang Jiarui and attended Chinese Communist party school in Beijing?”

Sharma said Congress led India’s freedom movement and questioning its patriotism is outrageous. “Time to set the record straight and expose the BJP’s hypocrisy and double standards,” he said.

While former minister Ashwani Kumar said, “the ruling party was not voted to power to invent quid pro quos for questioning the nationalist credentials of their opponents.”

Congress media head Randeep Surjewala asked the BJP to stop living in 2005 and answer the “reality of Chinese incursions on the LAC”.
