New Delhi, September 13

The Tamil Nadu Assembly on Monday passed a Bill to opt out of the central medical entrance exam system NEET-UG and admit students to UG medical courses on the basis of Class XII marks. The Bill was passed by the Assembly with all parties in support, barring the BJP. Presidential assent for the Bill would, however, remain a challenge. — TNS
