A man allegedly killed three minor daughters by pushing them into a lake in a fit of rage in Telangana’s Kamareddy district on Friday, police said.

Police fished out bodies of the three children—10-year-old Afia, 9-year-old Maheen and 7-year-old Zoya—from a lake in Tadkole, a village that falls under Banswada block.

The suspect in the case, the girls’ father Fayaz, is a daily wager, police said. He was arrested after the incident.

Sources said that Fayaz fought with his wife after she refused to give him money for gambling. Fayaz then took his children with him, telling them that they were going for a stroll.

Sources said that the two frequently fought over money, and that the wife kept a firm control over the money she earned so she could bring up their children.

Villagers are believed to have spotted the bodies and alerted the police.
