Trai receives 26,400 plaints against telcos
Regulator Trai received over 26,400 complaints against telecom companies during January-November this year, Parliament was informed on Wednesday. The number of similar complaints stood at 44,890 during the 11-month period, MoS for Communications and IT Sanjay Dhotre said in the Lok Sabha. He said the government was considering setting up a telecom Ombudsman for addressing consumer grievances. He said over 1.6 lakh mobile towers were added across the country by telecom operators during December 2015-November 2019. PTI
21,467 Indian websites hacked till Oct
Over 21,400 Indian websites were hacked this year up to October, Parliament was informed. “As per the information reported to and tracked by Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), 33,147, 30,067, 17,560 and 21,467 Indian websites were hacked during the year 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 (till October), respectively,” MoS for Electronics and IT Sanjay Dhotre said in the Lok Sabha. He said cyber attacks appeared to have originated from various countries, including China, Pakistan, Netherlands, France, Taiwan, Tunisia, Russia, Algeria and Serbia. PTI
182 cases of flying drones along border
As many as 182 incidents of flying of drones have been observed along the country’s border, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy said in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. The minister also said a standard operating procedure (SOP) to deal with the threat from drones has been issued in April 2019 to all states and union territories for implementation. PTI
