Four of the 14 nominations filed for nine seats were withdrawn while the fifth one was rejected on technical grounds, leaving just nine candidates for nine seats. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is Thursday after which all nine candidates would be declared elected.

While the Shiv Sena has fielded Thackeray and Deputy Chairperson of the Legislative Council Neelam Gorhe, the NCP nominated Amol Mitkari and Shashikant Shinde, while the Congress has just one candidate, Rajesh Rathod.
