New Delhi, November 2

The Jal Shakti Ministry has decided to expand its ambit of work beyond the Ganga river, as it will help clean and rejuvenate other rivers as well.

The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) of the Jal Shakti Ministry, which implements the “Namami Gange” (clean Ganga) project, has been entrusted with the cleaning of other rivers.

Over the years, the NMCG has accumulated knowledge and expertise with regard to rejuvenating the Ganga and its basin. Therefore, it is in a position to provide technical support to states agencies. — TNS
