Video: Lightning strikes Dwarkadheesh temple in Gujarat, no harm caused except slight damage to flag

Amid heavy rains, a lightning on Tuesday afternoon struck on the flag mast of the world famous Dwarkadheesh temple in Gujarat’s Devbhumi-Dwarka district.

While the flag got torn, no other damage was reported to the famous Lord Krishna’s temple or the people near or inside the temple.

The videos of lightning on the temple have surfaced on social media.

As per a statement issued by the office of Shah in Gandhinagar, his Lok Sabha constituency, the lightning has not damaged the temple structure.

The statement said Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a telephonic talk with the temple management as well as with the district collector on learning about the lightning strike.

Also, known as the Jagat mandir, the Dwarkadhish temple is believed to be over 2,000 years old.
