New Delhi, July 9
In line with the first phase of the disengagement process from friction points in eastern Ladakh, China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) on Thursday completed moving back its troops from the face-off sites in Gogra and Hot Springs, two days after withdrawing all its personnel from the Galwan valley, people familiar with the development said.
They said withdrawal of troops from Finger 4 area in Pangong Tso also picked up momentum, paving the way for holding of another round of corps Commander-level talks in the next few days to further de-escalate tension in the region.
The people said both sides have completed creation of a buffer zone of 3 km in the three friction points of the Galwan valley, Gogra and Hot Springs as part of a temporary measure aimed at reducing the possibility of any confrontation. – PTI
