New Delhi, July 16
In more trouble for the opposition presidential nominee Yashwant Sinha, Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party chief Shivpal Singh Yadav on Saturday threw a spanner in the wheels of Samajwadi Party by asking SP chief and his nephew Akhilesh Yadav how he will support a man who used negative references for party patron Mulayam Singh Yadav.
“Yashwant Sinha had called then defence minister Mulayam Singh Yadav an ISI agent. How will you support him? The party has become a subject of jokes,” Shivpal Yadav wrote to Akhilesh.
The letter, in a way, seeks to appeal to SP MLAs and MPs to think before voting in the July 18 presidential election as there is no whip.
Shivpal and Suheldev Bharatita Samaj Party chief OP Rajbhar who fought the recent UP election in alliance with Akhilesh have both declared support for ruling NDA candidate Droupadi Murmu in the presidential election.
