The search for his missing daughter continues, with authorities conducting shoreline patrols and multi-agency search operations
A heart-wrenching tragedy unfolded at Garrapata State Beach in Big Sur, California, on Friday, claiming the life of a 39-year-old Canadian father, Yuji Hu, who bravely attempted to rescue his 5-year-old daughter swept away by massive waves.
The powerful waves, estimated to be 15 to 20 feet high, pulled the young girl into the Pacific Ocean, prompting Hu to jump into the water to save her. His wife, who also entered the water, managed to return to shore but was treated for mild hypothermia. Their 2-year-old child was unharmed.
