Pak Air Force F-16 jet crashes, pilot killed
Islamabad: A Pakistan Air Force pilot was killed on Wednesday when his F-16 fighter jet crashed in Islamabad while carrying out rehearsals for the country’s Republic Day parade to be held on March 23. Wing Commander Nouman Akram died in the crash in a jungle near Shakarparian area of the capital, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) said in a statement. The US-built F-16 fighter plane was carrying out routine exercises for the Pakistan Day parade when it crashed, it said, adding that the PAF has ordered an inquiry into the cause of the crash. There were no casualties on the ground or damage to property, the statement said, adding that security forces have cordoned off the crash site. Smoke was rising from the crash site and rescue efforts were going on to contain the fire, the statement said. PTI

Russian pranksters dupe Prince Harry in hoax call: Report
London: Russian pranksters on Wednesday said they duped Prince Harry into believing he was speaking to environmental campaigner Greta Thunberg, after The Sun newspaper gave details of hoax calls. “It was us,” Vladimir “Voyan” Kuznetsov said in response to the British tabloid’s front-page report, which said the prince was duped into two chats with him and Alexei “Lexus” Solyarov.
