Chandigarh, August 27
Congress Rajya Sabha MP Partap Bajwa has requested the Vidhan Sabha Speaker to allow another sitting of the House so that MLAs, who are under quarantine, are allowed to participate in debates on important issues.
Issues like “anti-farmer” ordinances and power reforms under the economic relief package announced by the Union Government needed to be discussed, he said. A truncated single-day session of the Legislative Assembly, without attendance from the Opposition parties, would be unfortunate, he said, adding that the government should not hold any substantive discussions on these issues without the Opposition. — TNS
