SGPC poll: 40,000 voters enrolled
Mohali: About 40,000 persons have enrolled themselves in the voter list for the SGPC elections. District Electoral Officer Aashika Jain said on Maghi and Gurpurb, 4,517 and 3,657 forms, respectively, were received. She said Mohali contributed 14,303 forms, Dera Bassi 13,209 and 12,733 forms received from Kharar so far. As many as 22,490 forms had been submitted by women and 17,399 by men. The last date for the submission of forms is February 29. TNS
Missing girls reunite with kin
Fatehgarh Sahib: Two minor girls were handed over to their families by the Child Welfare Committee. ASI Sirhind Police Station Jagroop Singh said that the girls had gone to langar in Hamayunpur on Gurpurb and lost their way home due to fog. Around 3 pm, the police received information that two girls in Adarsh Nagar were wandering in a state of panic. The girls were taken to the District Child Welfare Department and later handed over to their families.
