2 vehicle thieves held, 4 stolen bikes seized in Fatehgarh Sahib

The police claims to have arrested two vehicle lifters and recovered four stolen motorcycles on their disclosure. The accused are already facing cases under the NDPS Act and for theft in Mohali, Sohana and Kharar area.

Addressing mediapersons here today, Manpreet Singh Deol, SHO, Badali Ala Singh, said as per directions of SSP Shubham Aggarwal, the police had laid a naka for checking of vehicles at the T point near Nadiala village. He said the police signalled two bike-borne youths to stop for checking at the naka, but instead of stopping they tried to flee. Later, the accused were overpowered by the police.

The SHO said the arrested accused were identified as Mangat Ram of Bhagatpur village and Gagandeep Singh, alias Gaggi, of Badali Ala Singh. The SHO said during preliminary investigation the accused revealed that they had stolen a motorcycle and were going to sell it after installing a fake plate bearing registration number plate. He said the accused admitted that they had been stealing motorcycles. He said on their disclosure, the police recovered four more motorcycles. He said the accused would be presented in a court for seeking their police remand.
