34 revenue, transport services now available at 42 Sewa Kendras in Patiala
The Punjab government has expanded citizen services by launching 34 new facilities — six from the Revenue Department and 28 from the Transport Department — now available at Sewa Kendras across the Patiala district or from home via helpline 1076. This move aims to simplify public access to government services and promote transparent, efficient governance.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Preeti Yadav stated that residents no longer need to visit tehsil offices or patwaris for basic revenue services. Citizens can now access mutation through inheritance or registry, corrections in Jamabandi, registration of reports, subscription alerts, and digital copies of land records directly from nearby Sewa Kendras or from home.
The DC further shared that a wide range of transport services can now also be availed easily. These include applying for learner's and driving licences, updating address, name or date of birth, reissuance of duplicate licenses, renewal without tests, license conversion, and issuing of badges for public service drivers and conductors.
Similarly, services related to vehicle registration certificates (RC) such as duplicate RC issuance, address change, NOC applications, ownership transfers, mobile number updates, and fitness certificates for commercial vehicles are now available.
She added that all 34 services can be accessed at 42 Sewa Kendras across Patiala, ensuring ease of access, saving time, and delivering services in a transparent and citizen-friendly manner. The initiative is a part of the state government’s continuous push towards digitisation and better service delivery through e-governance.
