55 pledge to donate eyes

As many as 55 persons pledged to donate their eyes at an event that marked the National Eye Donation Awareness campaign held at the Patiala Eye Hospital and Lasik Laser Centre, Leela Bhawan on Wednesday.

Dr Sukhdip Singh Boparai said, “Eye donation is a great service that can fill someone’s world with light. Therefore, everyone should participate in this noble work and inspire as many people as possible to donate their eyes.”

Dr Boparai, Dr Gothwal and all other Patiala eye hospital employees also pledged to donate their eyes. The key objective of this initiative is to reduce corneal blindness, Dr Gothwal said.
