Rs 9L stolen from bank in Patran

Thieves stuck at a bank branch in Patran and decamped with Rs 9 lakh, DVR and CPU on Wednesday night.

The incident came to light in the morning and the police registered a case of theft. As per the police, the thieves broke open the wall and entered the cash vault area.

The incident took place in the Axis Bank branch located in Shergarh village of Patran. DSP Patran Inderpal Singh Chauhan stated that a case had been registered against unknown individuals following a complaint from bank manager Pritpal Singh. Preliminary investigations indicate that approximately Rs 9 lakh in cash,

DVR and other few other times were also stolen. The DSP said despite repeated instructions from the police, the bank management had not deployed a night security guard at the branch.
