The order will remain in force till April this year.

In 2018, the Punjab Government had decided to seek an affidavit from those seeking a new arms licence or its renewal, in which they were to give an undertaking that they would not carry their weapons to wedding ceremonies and other functions.

The owners and managers of banquet halls and marriage palaces have been instructed to install metal detectors and security cameras to ensure that no one carries a weapon into the permises.
