Athletes of Punjabi University, Patiala, felicitated

Punjabi University Vice-Chancellor Prof Arvind distributed prizes to the winners of the varsity’s 46th Athletics Meet today.

Speaking during the closing ceremony of the event, held at the Senior Secondary Model School at Punjabi University, the Vice-Chancellor said that sports play an important role in the physical and mental development of children. That’s the reason all students must participate in sports, he said.

The Vice-Chancellor emphasised the need to promote Punjabi University School with the support of the university and utilise the expertise of the university staff in raising the standard of education of schoolchildren.

He said efforts are being made to raise the level of sports in the university, with the help of the state government. The VC praised the achievers at the tournament, advising them to work hard.
