Bihar student dies by suicide

A third-year student of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College allegedly died by suicide after hanging himself in his hostel room. The deceased has been identified as Karthik Sharma of Bihar.

The students residing in the hostel rushed the deceased to the Civil Hospital without informing the college management, where the doctors declared him brought dead.

SP (Investigation) Rakesh Yadav said upon receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and took stock of the situation. He said the police recovered a suicide note, besides a finger print expert and the forensic team were pressed into service. He said as per the note, the deceased has not held anyone responsible for his death.

The SP said the family members of the deceased have been informed and the cause of his death was being investigated. The body has been kept in the Civil Hospital mortuary for post-mortem and further action will be taken after the arrival of the deceased’s family members.
