Book of nursery rhymes in Punjabi launched

Collection of nursery rhymes in ‘Punjabi Chatt Gayee Malai’ written by a teacher-writer Maninder Kaur was released here at the Department of Languages

In a commemorative literary function organised by Punjabi Sahit Sabha, Patiala, a collection of nursery rhymes in Punjabi 'Chatt Gayee Malai’ written by a teacher-writer Maninder Kaur was released here at the Department of Languages.

Sahit Sabha president and Shiromani Punjabi Bal Sahit writer Darshan Singh Aasht said there was a lack of interesting nursery rhymes in Punjabi language. Writers should give special attention to creative Punjabi nursery rhymes so that affection can be develop among new generation, he added. Aasht said workshops for children literature should be organised in villages, specially because children are forgetting Punjabi heritage and culture.
