Bublani assumes charge as Divisional Commissioner of Patiala
Vinay Bublani, a 2008-batch IAS officer, today formally took charge as the Divisional Commissioner of Patiala Division. Prior to this assignment, he was serving as Secretary, School Education Department and Director General, School Education.
Upon his arrival at the District Administrative Complex, Deputy Commissioner Dr Preeti Yadav and SSP Dr Nanak Singh welcomed him. A police contingent presented a guard of honour to mark the occasion.
After assuming office, Bublani said as per the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, his foremost priority would be to ensure citizen-centric, time-bound, and transparent governance across the districts of the Patiala Division.
He held a brief meeting with the Deputy Commissioner, SSP and other senior officers to review the functioning of the district and directed them to implement government schemes and policies effectively with better coordination.
Highlighting the government’s efforts in the education sector, Bublani said under the ‘Punjab Sikhya Kranti’ initiative, the face of government schools had been transformed. Drawing on his previous role in the School Education Department, he also expressed his intent to visit Schools of Eminence across the division to further strengthen the quality of education.
The Divisional Commissioner also reviewed the ongoing wheat procurement operations. He instructed officials to ensure prompt procurement of farmers’ produce at the mandis, immediate payment, and timely lifting of the crop. Bublani has previously served in key administrative roles including Deputy Commissioner, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar; Director, Land Records, Jalandhar; and Special Secretary, Revenue.
