the ongoing projects were sanctioned during the tenure of the previous government and the residents are the worst sufferers as the drains there are choked and roads have been damaged. The rivalry between the political parties is causing great hardship to the residents at large even though they are not to be blamed.

As per councillors, several development projects worth approximately Rs 3 crore were cleared in the last meeting of the council. The proposal for the projects was sent to the ADC (General) for approval. The ADC had given a nod to the project. However, the tendering process for the projects is yet to begin.

As a result, the residents have been suffering the most as several major roads of the town have developed potholes and drains are choked. The water supply and sewerage projects have not been completed. The roads which are in a miserable condition with potholes gapping everywhere, leading to minor accidents and inconvenience to the residents need immediate repair. The cleanliness in the town has also been affected. The councillors said the projects whose tenders have been allotted to contractors have not yet been started allegedly due to the differences between the political parties.

MC Executive Officer said the tendering process of the sanctioned projects would begin soon.
