City hosts Lohri functions dedicated to girl child
Fatehgarh Sahib, January 12
The District Bar Ass4ociation celebrated Lohri, highlighting the theme ‘Respect Girls’. The president of the Bar Association, AS Dharni, secretary Vivek Sharma and advocate Gagan Guraya briefed the gathering about the significance of Lohri.
At the event, District and Sessions Judge Arun Gupta said that in modern times, girls have been taking long strides in every field. He urged the gathering to welcome every child in the family as a blessing of God, irrespective of the gender.
Meanwhile, senior citizens of the city also organised an event to celebrate Lohri. DC Parneet Shergill attended the event and urged everyone to respect senior citizens in society, as everyone can learn a lot from their life experience.
Ashoka Boys Senior Secondary School also celebrated Lohri on the school premises, with the students taking a pledge to fight various social evils.
