Late evening today, PSPCL officials along with technical experts from SAP rebooted the system to remove the glitch. Due to this snag, cash counters at some of the offices were shut while it took over 20 minutes to process a single bill, leading to chaos.

In Rajpura, Jandiala Guru, Mohali and a few other places, consumers had to wait in long queues to deposit their bills. Irate consumers said the snag led to delay in processing of bills. “No information was provided by PSPCL. Officials concerned are neither in their offices nor answering calls,” said consumers.

Meanwhile, senior PSPCL officials confirmed that SAP system was rebooted and it worked properly after 4.30 pm. “Due to some backend operations at SAP, services at cash counters were affected. We will monitor the system on Wednesday to ensure that it doesn’t cause any inconvenience to consumers,” they said. — TNS
