District Bar Association boycotts judicial work
Fatehgarh Sahib, August 16
The District Bar Association boycotted judicial work to protest against the murder of a female doctor in Kolkata and sacrilege at Shiv Temple in Khanna town.
The medical and paramedical staff of the civil hospital also observed a strike against the rape and murder of the trainee doctor. All the OPD services remained suspended, but the emergency services were initiated and the operations were continued.
President of the District Bar Association, Advocate Amardeep Singh Dharni said that the manner in which the thieves broke into the temple, stole ornaments and committed sacrilege was intolerable and had hurt everyone’s sentiments. He also demanded that the accused in both the cases should be arrested immediately and punished severely. Advocate Vivek Sharma, Narinder Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Gurpreet Singh Saini, Reena Rani, Harpreet Kaur, Amandeep Kaur and other advocates were present on the occasion. — OC
