Chetan Singh Jouramajra, Minister for Information and Public Relations, while interacting with media at Latour village called upon the rural people to elect panchayats unanimously in the coming panchayat elections, so that it may promote development of the village and maintain harmony and brotherhood among the people. He said political wrangling leads to mutual distrust and rivalries causing great harm not only to development of villages but personal relations as well. He had come to preside over the Teej celebration function organised by the Latour village panchayat today.
He said that the CM Bhagwant Mann’s concept of Rangla Punjab can be realized only by electing panchayats with consensus and under standings. He said that the grass root of democracy starts from panchayat and real success lies in mutual cooperation and understanding from this level onwards. He warned that they should not vote and support those who lure them with drugs and money.
Jouramajra said that since Bhagwant Mann took charge as the Chief Minister, the festivals, sports, cultural events are being organised to prevent the youth from falling in the trap of drugs and to apprise them about our rich heritage and culture. He said that the Teej festival is an important part of Punjab’s rich heritage and that in this era of information technology, we can connect our young generation with our rich heritage by holding such events.
Fatehgarh Sahib MLA Lakhbir Singh Rai highly appreciated the cultural program presented by the students of Government High School of Latour village during the event.
