A retired Army man, who is a resident of Urban Estate, has alleged that he, along with his mother and wife, was attacked by 10 persons last Friday.

Jagroop Singh, brother of Subedar (retd) Jarnail Singh (54), said his brother operates a private security agency. He said Jarnail Singh and a friend were returning home on September 10 when a dispute broke out with a man driving a Swift car in Urban Estate. He said: “The man driving the Swift called other people to the spot, around 10 of them, who then beat up Jarnail Singh. They also entered our house while beating him up and then attacked our 80-year-old mother and Jarnail’s wife.”

He said Jarnail Singh was later admitted to Government Rajindra Hospital and submitted his statement with the police the following day.

Meanwhile, the Urban Estate police have registered a cross case against both parties after they also received a complaint from a Hardeep Singh of Bolar Kalan, who alleged that he was attacked by three men — Jarnail Singh and two unidentified persons riding a Bolero car. The complainant said he was attacked with an iron rod and was later admitted to a private hospital.
