The officials and staff of Deputy Commissioner (DC) office ushered in the New Year by taking a pledge to serve the society with greater devotion and enthusiasm.

DC Dr Sona Thind urged them to work harder and in a transparent manner and to redress the grievances of the people on priority.

Highlighting the district's achievements, she said there was a significant reduction in the cases of stubble burning in the district as only 231 sites were found by the Punjab Remote Sensing Center (PRSC) during the paddy season in 2024, down from last year's 888.
