Fatehgarh Sahib DLSA chief flags off legal aid unit on wheels
Fatehgarh Sahib, January 19
A legal aid unit on wheels was flagged off by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) chairman Arun Gupta here today. This unit, operating from a van, would be used to apprise residents of their legal rights and legal aid would be provided to them.
Gupta said that besides this awareness van, the DLSA would organise camps to inform residents about their legal rights, adding that the needy would be provided free legal aid. He said that a camp was organised at Khamano, under the supervision of DLSA Secretary Manpreet Kaur.
At the camp, Manpreet said that people belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, women, children, mentally ill persons, industrial workers, or those in police custody may avail free legal services under this initiative. She also discussed the settlement of disputes through ‘Samjhauta Sadan’, and literature on DLSA’s schemes and facilities was distributed at the camp.
