Finance Minister Cheema to hoist Tricolour in Patiala
Patiala, August 9
As part of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations on August 15, Punjab’s Finance, Minister, Harpal Singh Cheema, will hoist the tricolour at the district-level event to be held at Raja Bhalinder Singh Sports (Polo Ground) Stadium.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Kanchan, conducted a review of the rehearsal. She shared that after hoisting the national flag, Minister Cheema will inspect the parade, featuring contingents from Punjab Police, the Home Guard, NCC and Scouts. Following this, the minister will deliver his message to the people of Punjab and take the salute during the march past.
The event will also honour distinguished personalities and freedom fighters for their commendable contributions in various fields. Additionally, the District Red Cross Society will distribute tricycles and sewing machines to those in need. — TNS
