MLA Chetan Singh Jawaramajra, while inaugurating the concretization of Nawada Rajwaha, stated that the state government has taken a major initiative to save groundwater.

He further said due to the incompetence of previous governments, the canal channels had come under illegal encroachment, and the use of Punjab’s canal water for irrigation had significantly reduced.

The MLA added under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan, Punjab has started using about 80 per cent of its share of canal water, which will not only save groundwater but also electricity due to reduced motor usage.
