Gharam to be developed as ‘adarsh gram’

Gharam village of Sanaur in Patiala will soon be developed as ‘adarsh gram’ (model village). The state government aims to make the village a tourist spot. Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney today paid a visit to the village to take stock of the situation there and held a meeting with villagers and officials.
She said, “The state government is making efforts to bring the village on the map of national tourism sites. The roads and streets in the area will be named after Lord Ram.” She said a slew of investments will be carried out to make it an adarsh village by installing solar lighting, sewage treatment plant, ground water recharging system, welcome gate, carrying out plantation, beautification, pond renovation, building a dispensary, Aam Aadmi Clinic, gym, playground, school and upgrading the anganwadi centre.
