Dr Balbir Singh emphasised that the last three years have witnessed a wave of development across key sectors like education, healthcare, electricity and employment. Citing the government’s dedication and transparency, he claimed projects worth Rs 2,000 crore have been executed in 12,000 schools across the state — an unprecedented step toward strengthening Punjab’s education system.

Highlighting Punjab’s pioneering efforts, Dr Balbir Singh said it was the first state in the country to appoint campus managers and security personnel in schools, with an annual outlay of Rs 200 crore to ensure proper maintenance and security.

Calling out previous governments—Akali Dal, BJP, and Congress, “A.B.C.”— Dr Balbir Singh blamed them for the neglect that pushed youth toward crime and drug addiction. In contrast, he said, the Mann government is empowering students through visionary initiatives such as the Schools of Eminence, aimed at holistic development and global competitiveness.

He also praised the Business Blaster Scheme, which provides students with ₹2,000 and vocational training to develop entrepreneurial ideas. During his visit, Dr. Balbir Singh interacted with students and reviewed exhibitions showcasing their innovative projects, expressing confidence that government school students will make Punjab proud on national and international stages.
