Patiala, February 25
Sports Authority of India (SAI) and NSNIS here hosted an international symposium on “Synergising Performance: Integrating Rehabilitation and Strength; Conditioning in High-Performance Athletes”. The event started with a welcome address by Kalpana Sharma, Director, Academics, followed by opening remark by Vineet Kumar, Executive Director.
The flagship event brought together international experts and practitioners in the field. The symposium served as a platform for exchanging ideas, sharing expertise and fostering collaborations.
Distinguished speakers at the event included Antonio Robustelli (international high-performance consultant and coach, Italy), Vaibhav Daga (Head, Sports Science;
Rehabilitation; Consultant, Sports Medicine, KDA Mumbai), Kiril Raykov (strength, conditioning coach, Bulgaria) and Kostas Chatzichristos (Head of Performance Fenerbahce Basketball, MEd, CSCS).
Their talk shed light on the significance of integrating rehabilitation and strength & conditioning practices within various sports contexts, applying problem-solving and critical thinking skills to develop tailored solutions. This was followed by panel discussions on “Integrative Scientific Approach to High Performance in Sports and Women empowerment in Strength and Conditioning Field”. Many eminent speakers shared their views and approaches to advance the fields of rehabilitation and strength, conditioning, contributing to the evolution of high-performance sports practices. The symposium truly achieved its goal of creating a global forum for the exchange of ideas and expertise.
