Patiala, January 12

Gaurav Dhiman, Assistant Professor at Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University (JGND PSOU), has been granted a joint research project in collaboration with Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University, Saudi Arabia, under the Distinguished Scientist Fellowship Programme (DSFP).

The project is titled “Optimising smart city management through multi-objective optimisation strategies with diverse membership functions in an artificial intelligence framework.” It underscores the requirement for potential research in the field of smart city management.

Norah Saleh Alghamdi from Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University, would be the principal investigator, while Gaurav Dhiman would serve as the co-principal investigator.

Gaurav Dhiman said, “We anticipate breakthroughs in the optimisation of smart city management during this project. With an approximate budget of 1 lakh USD, this collaborative research project will contribute to sustainable development for the present and future generations.”

Vice-Chancellor of JGND PSOU Karamjeet Singh congratulated Gaurav on this accomplishment and said, “This research initiative will bring several changes in urban governance. Harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI) for the enhancement of smart city management will definitely address challenges faced by modern cities.”
