They trekked on foot to reach the villages where landslides had severely disrupted daily life. Both leaders interacted with residents and assured that the government stood with them firmly during the crisis, pledging full compensation for all kinds of losses.

The leaders first reached the Morni market, where they listened to the grievances of local residents. They enquired not only about the problems arising from the rains but also about other difficulties faced by the people.

Taking serious note of the collapse of a retaining wall constructed just six months ago, Kartikeya Sharma directed officials to issue a notice to the contractor and conduct a thorough inquiry. Officials were also instructed to resolve all issues raised by residents.

The MP informed that approval had already been granted for 29 new roads, while 11 damaged due to rain and landslides would soon be repaired. Additionally, sanction had been given for the strengthening and linking of 63 pathways, on which work would begin shortly. Residents also demanded the installation of a mobile tower and a petrol station. MLA Sharma, meanwhile, assured that a mobile tower would be installed soon and urged locals to provide land for the petrol station so that the matter can be taken up with the Centre.

After meeting people at the market, the leaders visited the hilly villages of Duu and Gadyo in the lower Morni area, where families had been badly affected by heavy rainfall and landslides.

They interacted with the residents and listened to their concerns. Directions were issued to relocate families who no longer had habitable homes.

MLA Sharma said she would extend assistance from her personal funds wherever possible, while urging officials to ensure no citizen faced hardship. She added that people need not panic as the government had already announced financial relief.

The leader assured that a survey would soon begin for those who lost houses, shops or livestock, while farmers were asked to register details of crop losses on the compensation portal. Officials were also directed to prepare detailed reports of damages suffered by affected residents.
