Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and General Secretary of the party in Punjab, Anil Sareen, today issued a statement condemning the Aam Aadmi Party government’s "anti-farmer" and "anti-Punjab" landpooling policy, calling it the biggest land scam in Punjab’s history.

“This policy is not about development — it’s about displacement. Over 40,000 acres of fertile land is being forcibly pooled across Punjab, and the backbone of our economy — the farmers — are being robbed of their future,” he said.

Former MP Preneet Kaur also raised grave concerns about the impact of this policy in Patiala district, especially in Rajpura, Sanaur, Ghanaur, and Patiala Rural constituencies. “In Patiala alone, over 1,150 acres of agricultural land is being snatched from farmers under this so-called pooling model. Hundreds of villages stand to lose their only means of livelihood,” she said.

BJP state Mahila Morcha President Jai Inder Kaur slammed the AAP government for working at the behest of Delhi-based land mafias, not the people of Punjab, adding that the state’s democratic structure is being undermined.
