MC forms teams crack down of property tax defaulters
The Municipal Corporation today implemented sealing action against property tax defaulters. Meanwhile, the corporation has also formed 10 separate sealing teams to seal units that fail to pay their property tax dues by March 31.
Under the instructions of Mayor Kundan Gogia and Municipal Commissioner Paramveer Singh, the corporation’s property tax branch, led by Joint Commissioner Deepjot Kaur and Assistant Commissioner Ravdeep Singh, sealed the units of Gursewak Singh on Bhupindra Road, SCO 12 at Sai Market, and Sukhwinder Singh at Sant Nagar during the sealing campaign for non-payment of property tax.
Sharing details, Joint Commissioner Deepjot Kaur said three different units located at Arna Barna Chowk and Books Market avoided sealing action by paying their outstanding property tax to the team on the spot. The entire police staff of Municipal Corporation Patiala accompanied the property tax team throughout the campaign.
Assistant Commissioner Ravdeep Singh and Superintendent Property Tax Lavnish Goel said, as per the orders of the Municipal Commissioner, 10 separate sealing teams have been formed to seal units that fail to pay their property tax dues by March 31, 2025, and these teams will commence their sealing campaign from March 26th onwards.
The efforts will continue in the future as well. They appealed to the general public to deposit their due property tax at the Municipal Corporation Patiala before March 31 to avoid additional penalties and interest.
