Minister reviews progress of projects in villages

Patiala, July 12

Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh today held a meeting at the Zila Parishad complex to discuss ongoing and upcoming development works in villages of the Patiala (Rural) constituency.

During the meeting, the minister reviewed the progress of various projects in the villages, stressing the need for their timely completion and holding officials accountable for any delays.

Dr Balbir Singh instructed officials to maintain regular field visits to ensure villagers’ needs were fulfilled locally and ordered measurement of link roads in villages.

The minister also issued directions to start the process of allocating 5 marla plots to the poor and identifying suitable locations in the villages. He outlined strategies for solid waste management, including mapping village ponds.

Dr Balbir Singh announced plans to develop Lubana Teku village as a picnic spot and use its water for drip irrigation. He also proposed constructing a model stadium in Dhangera village. He urged all departments to maximise planting of trees during the monsoon season.

ADC (Rural Development) Dr Harjinder Singh Bedi, Patiala SDM Arvind Kumar, Nabha SDM Tarsem Chand, District Revenue Officer Gurleen Kaur were among those who attended the meeting.
